WE GOT OUR APPOINTMENT LETTER!!!!

We got our appointment date today!!! Apparently they DID use the pre-paid airbill we sent. Ya know those three level carbon-type forms that you have to press really hard to fill out? They used the BOTTOM layer of my original FedEx delivery thingie as the label! Who knows how long this poor envelope has been floating around the world looking for us. It was barely legible and FedEx called us early this morning to ask if "this was us." They tried to deliver it yesterday, but got the wrong address. The letter inside the envelope is dated April 20!! I'm so thankful I didn't know about the label problem all along. It would have made this last month even longer.

I must have sounded like a mad-woman on the phone... "I'M COMING RIGHT NOW, DON'T DELIVER IT!!!" The lady laughed and asked if I was "the one adopting from Ukraine." A few months ago I had made this lady cross her heart and hope to die that our medical-letter package would make it to Ukraine ok! Musta made an impression on her, 'cuz she remembered me!) Anyway, John and I hopped in the car and they let us in to pick it up even though FedEx was technically not open yet to the public. We got to sneak in the back door. Bless her heart. (Lesson: Sometimes it pays to be a little dramatic once in a while! ;O) )

Anyway, the date appears to be July 27, which is wonderful that we don't have to stress about last minute packing, etc., BUT, it does mean that a handful of documents will be expired already and will need to be redone. Unfortunately one of them is my medical letter. (Couldn't have been John's... had to be mine!) *WAAAAAHHH*

That's the news! Nice to not have to stress so hard about getting the kids' room done, etc. Breathing a little easier this morning!

Shelly
