Now that "Angel Pin Season" is about over for us, I thought I'd share the recipe for them for anyone else out there wanting a good fundraiser for their adoption. If you do try these, let me know! I'd love to be able to pray with you that you'll sell a bunch of them!

You can pretty well see the cut-out shape for the plastic canvas in this pic. I use invisible canvas, but you can also use opaque white, which is pretty too. Cutting the canvas is the worst part, so make sure to enlist your hubbies for that job! John is an awesome angel-cutter-outer. (Shhhhh, don't tell him I told you!) He uses a carpet-knife and a cutting board and he can cut about eight of them in the time I can cut one with a scissors. Just make sure when you're done, that you clip off all the ragged edges (which I just notice I didn't do when I made this one!) ;O) Start with the red ribbon, hot-gluing the starting point to the back just below where you'll need to put your needle. The red ribbon goes in this top hole, but the white will go into the hole above it. Otherwise, the one hole will be too "full." Make sure the ribbon doesn't twist!
Hot-glue the beginning of the blue ribbon on the back in the middle of the wing. Sew the one wing first.
When you are finished with the first wing, start the next wing by putting your needle in at the top. Sew it up like the other wing. You can see that when I ended the white ribbon (and also the red, but you can't see it), I left a little flap on the back. It is glued at the top and left to flap. This was how I was taught, but it does seem to hold better when you leave a little extra. Make sure to always cut your ribbon at an angle or it will fray.

Lastly, you'll need to wrap the bodice. Wrap twice on the first side, then go around the next as pictured and wrap twice around the other side. Hot-glue into place.
The rest of the pin should be pretty self-explanatory. You buy the rhinestone for the face, some bead-string to hot-glue into a halo (the wire kind works much easier, but I've used both.) Then the clasp for the back! Just use a bunch of hot glue so it doesn't come off easily! If you have any questions, let me know!
